THE CULTIVATED COLLECTOR
In the world of polo, the Greenwich Polo Club is one of the most spectacular settings in the country to watch a match. Founded by Peter Brant, it is a stone’s throw from the Brant Foundation Art Study Center designed by esteemed architect Richard Gluckman. Three impeccably manicured fields and a handsome grandstand set the scene. Guests come in fine and fun fashion and a festive crowd sits along the sidelines laughing over cocktails and cigars.
At halftime, guests take to the field in the age-old tradition of stomping the divots. During polo play, small patches of grass and dirt are torn up by polo ponies’ quick stops and turns, creating divots that can be dangerous if left overturned. Then, after the match, spectators gather on the field to meet and greet players as they are presented with prizes and trophies.
There is nothing quite like the power and energy experienced when watching a polo match. VIP guests of LOOK will have front row seats to watch all the action. It’s a fast-paced competition and Peter Brant has developed a formidable team of young talent that has gained a global reputation for the strength of the organization and its record of successful matches. LOOK at Polo will host the LOOK VIP Tent starting with the Monty Waterbury Cup final on June 19. Gates open at 1 p.m., the match begins at 3 p.m.

The Greenwich Polo Club is steeped in a tradition that dates back to 600 B.C. The club, built around a sport once played by kings and generals, was founded in 1981 in the backcountry of Greenwich, CT, by Peter Brant, a prominent businessman and avid polo player. He first became involved with polo in the 1970s when he met polo legend Thomas B. Glynn at the Fairfield Hunt Club. He soon began rigorous training and study. Since, he has become one of polo’s largest supporters and his club has become one of the nation’s premier polo venues. It is one of only four high-goal polo venues in the United States and known for an unmatched roster of legendary teams.
Greenwich Polo Club is located at 1 Hurlingham Drive, Greenwich, CT.
